Best Lunch Meats for Kids
Hello, EKF Family!
If you’ve walked inside a grocery store and made your way to the lunch meat section, you may have felt overwhelmed with way too many options. Yes, we’ve all been there! I want to make your next shopping trip a little easier with my list of the best lunch meat brands (plant-based included), for your little one. Keep in mind, you always, always want to turn the product around and read the ingredients. Don’t fall for the sexy packaging. Some harmful ingredients to look out for:
Caramel Coloring - A common ingredient in colas and other dark soft drinks, and typically used by some brands to make deli meat look “oven-roasted” along the edges. Also a known carcinogen.
Carrageenan - An emulsifier bad for gut flora, and can cause gastrointestinal issues. Also widely used as a thickener and gelling agent in coffee creamers.
Maltodextrin - Food preservative that is also bad for gut flora.
Yeast Extract - A form of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), which is an additive flavor enhancer.
Sodium Phosphate - Harmful preservative.
I want to make sure you give your little one the best ingredients, so feel free to save my graphic, bookmark this post, and share with your community!
Happy Shopping!
